Once between 15,000 - 30,000 and once between 30,000 and - 45,000 (where I am now) The dealer told me it's normal and not within abnormal consumption range. Just keep a quart or two of the recommended oil in your trunk and drive your car harder lol.

2014 Passat TDI HPFP Fail at 60,846 Miles.Out of warrany. On 10-20-16 at 6:00PM, Vehicle stalled without warning in middle of 6 lane Freeway at rush hour. Travel speed at time of stall 40MPH, adjacent exit lane was moving at 65 MPH plus. 48 mpg from a big car like the Passat in mixed use is excellent. When I buy a car I take the combined figure and deduct 20% off it, that is what I expect, a bit either way and its not far off the mark. Take 20% off 60.1 mpg and you get 48.1 mpg, exactly what you are getting. Basically your expectations have been unrealistic.
