I'm not sure why Microsoft would need convincing in adding Rift support to Minecraft. However, if Oculus wanted to get Microsoft to make it Minecraft in VR exclusive to the Rift, now that's something that would take a lot of convincing indeed. I'll double check while playing Minecraft though. Set your Rift to CD quality instead of DVD quality and it might work (Speaker Icon bottom right->Playback devices->Rift Headphones->Properties->Advanced). I had to do this because there were a few games that had no sound. It all works perfectly now. From within the list of tools, select SteamVR, as shown in Figure 1. Now, right-click on SteamVR and select the Install Game option from the shortcut menu. This will cause Steam to launch a very As far as I know, Rift version of Minecraft is currently broken. I use Vivecraft, it works like a charm and is easy to install. With Vivecraft, you need a license for Minecraft Java version though.
Was designed to promote virtual reality. Earlier this week Minecraft creator Notch cancelled an Oculus Rift version of the game in protest at Facebook's $2bn purchase of Oculus. But what kind of

Virtual reality (VR) is a mode natively exclusive to Bedrock Edition for Windows (formerly Windows 10 Edition) and PlayStation 4. It can be used with the Oculus Rift, Meta Quest (via Link and Air Link), PlayStation VR, and all Windows Mixed Reality compatible headsets. It was previously available on Gear VR until October 2020, when it was discontinued along with some older devices.

Virtual reality delivers some of the most immersive experiences in PC gaming. But getting VR right is hard. With effective display resolutions at 4K and growing, minimum refresh rates of 90 Hz, and razor-thin latency tolerances, VR is one of the world’s most demanding PC applications and requires the world’s most powerful GPUs.

So I finally got my rift s yesterday after waiting for months and all I have to say is I freaking LOVE IT. Only problem is, every single time I try and launch the windows 10 version of minecraft ( The official Oculus version of minecraft VR) It bugs out and takes me to the oculus menu and while thats happening, it takes me down to like 40fps.

It's probably not set to run the audio via the Rift but some other device on your computer while in SteamVR. So while you in a SteamVR game, the audio is going out to that other device (or not at all) and then when you bring up the Oculus Home Menu, the audio from the Rift is playing normally. I have had this issue a few times myself.
