Go to Steam games library. Right-click on the Crash game and choose "Properties". Disable "Enable the Steam Overlay while in-game" and "Use Desktop Game Theatre while SteamVR is active". It worked for me. I found a fix everyone!!! Go to Steam games library.
The game auto-saves as you're told when you first boot up the game. There's a button icon at the bottom of the level select area you can press in each one.
